Samsung’s recent product launch faced quality control issues. To make matters worse, there are now reports of paint peeling off the new Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra.
A Reddit user who goes by bimmerb0ii claims that the paint on his Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra has chipped away after only days of use. According to the post, they got the watch on July 19 It wasn’t until yesterday that they saw some of the paint missing, which you can see in the image below, right above the bottom left screw.
The Reddit user claims they treated the device .with extreme car and avoided going to the gym or participating in any sports while wearing the smartwatch.
The user reports that they took great care of the device and avoided gym and sports activities while wearing it.so the paint peeling seems unjustified. They contacted customer support and managed to get a replacement, but only after navigating several obstacles.
It’s unclear why the paint peeled off after just a few days. One commenter suggests it might be due to physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating. This issue could be specific to the gray Galaxy Watch Ultra. Another commenter notes that the white and silver models only have paint on the bezel and partially on the sides.
