Price and tax updates for apps, In-App Purchases, and subscriptions – Latest News

The App Store simplifies selling digital goods and services globally, supporting 44 currencies across 175 storefronts.

These adjustments use publicly available exchange rate information from financial data providers to keep app and In-App Purchase prices consistent across all storefronts.

Price Updates

On September 16:

If Chile, Laos, or Senegal isn’t your app or In-App Purchase base, pricing will update on those storefronts. These updates also account for value-added tax (VAT) introductions listed in the “Tax updates” section below.

If Chile, Laos, or Senegal is your base, prices will remain unchanged. On other storefronts, prices will update to align with your chosen base price.

Prices will remain unchanged in any region if your In-App Purchase is an auto-renewable subscription or if you manually manage prices instead of using automated equalized prices.

The Pricing and Availability section of Apps in App Store Connect now displays these upcoming price changes. You can change the prices of your apps, In-App Purchases, and auto-renewable subscriptions at any time.

Tax Updates

As of August 29:

Your proceeds from eligible app and In-App Purchase sales have been modified in:

– Laos: VAT introduced at 10%
– Senegal: VAT introduced at 18%
– India: The 2% equalization levy is no longer applicable

Exhibit B of the Paid Applications Agreement now indicates that Apple collects and remits applicable taxes in Laos and Senegal.

Beginning in September:

Your proceeds from eligible app and In-App Purchase sales will be modified in:

– Canada: Digital services tax introduced at 3%
– Finland: VAT increased from 24% to 25.5%
